Testimonials

In their own words:

I am amazed at the results I have achieved while a patient at Advanced Physical Therapy of Little Rock. You both are true professionals and I would highly recommend your services. EM
'When I recently had to have arthroscopic knee surgery I was concerned about recovery and what I would be able to do after surgery. After completing 3-day a week sessions at APT for a month, I was no longer concerned. The professionalism of Mitzi Gibson and Lori Mize made my recovery go smoothly. The atmosphere at APT was motivating and allowed me to focus on gaining strength in not only my knee but hips as well. Thanks to them I am now back on the golf course, gardening and enjoying life again!'

There are not many times in life that we are thankful for mistakes. But this is one mistake I am very thankful for. For years I have lived with various aches and pains. No doubt the numerous falls and injuries throughout my life, Migraines and being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 13 years ago had led to many missed days of work as well as trips to various health care providers. Almost two years ago, a diagnosis of Kidney stones was missed and I was referred to Mitzi Gibson at Advance PT for pelvic floor issues. While most would be upset about a physician missing such a diagnosis, I have just the opposite feelings. Mitzi Gibson & Advanced PT has changed my life, and I cannot express my appreciation enough.
I had been to PT before for care of my knees. I saw Chiropractors for care of my back. All were caring, but none looking outside of what they were treating at the time. Mitzi was very different. She listened. She cared enough to not only treat the referring issue which led me to her clinic, but to address so many different issues I had. The outcome of which has improved my life. I have had fewer missed days of work. I sleep better, which for people who suffer from Fibromyalgia means a new lease on life. My knee issues have been addressed with orthotics for my shoes. Back pain has been eased by mobilizations & exercises. Mitzi cares enough to help you learn HOW to help yourself. When my son had ankle & feet issues, Advanced PT was my first stop as well. She takes the same caring approach with everyone. The self help care she instructs through specific exercises means so much. So many Chiropractors just pop your back and give you another appointment to come back. Mitzi wants you to learn how to help yourself and not spend your time find waiting on weekly appointments.
So THANK YOU Mitzi & Advanced PT of Little Rock! I share with everyone who tells me about their aches and pains, how I got rid of mine.

If you have ever had a chronic pain of some sort then you can probably relate to my story. For 10 years now I have had this urgency feeling in my lower abdomen that causes a burning sensation. It started out just hurting a few times a month. Soon it got to be a few times a week. Then it became an everyday nuisance. It didn’t matter whether I was working at the office, running at the park, or trying to enjoy a romantic vacation with my boyfriend, it was always on my mind.
I tried talking to my OBGYN about it and she said it was probably just a yeast infection or a bladder infection. I would take the medicine that she would prescribe but it provided no relief. They did a blood test along with a few other tests and found out there was no infection. They said 'everything is normal'. But I knew better, I knew my body was trying to tell me something is wrong. I researched for hours a day on the internet trying to find an answer to my medical mystery. That is when I happened upon the IC network (www.ic-network.com). It was there that I learned there are thousands of women who have this chronic pain in the bladder called Interstitial Cystitis. Unfortunately, not too many doctors focus on this issue as there is still a lot of research going on to find the actual cause of it as well as a cure for it.
Soon after I started learning about this mysterious pelvic pain a close friend from college told me about a wonderful Physical Therapist, Mitzi Gibson, with Advanced Physical Therapy. She has a lot of experience with women’s health and she treats patients with the symptoms of IC. From the minute I walked through the door I felt that I was in good hands. Mitzi took the time to listen to me talk through my problems and symptoms. She sympathized with me and let me know that I am not alone. She taught me that there are multiple reasons why I am prone to IC and what I can do to stop it. Not only did her physical therapy and exercises help, but we worked on relaxation techniques in order to release pressure put on the problem areas. I kept a detailed food journal to figure out trigger foods that cause flare ups. Together, Mitzi and I researched the IC Network to find natural remedies that in time will help promote a healthy bladder. The most important thing that Mitzi did was let me know that I can beat this and take control over my body again.
I began my therapy with Advanced Physical Therapy in November of 2008. Even after just 2 months of therapy, keeping a food journal, changing my eating habits and taking the natural remedies I can go a few days without having the constant burning and pain. I know it’s a long road ahead but I can fall asleep at night knowing that I have an intelligent, caring and wonderful physical therapist who's just a phone call away!

I would like to thank you for being there for me. My prostate surgery is now 4 years old and after 2 years of trying to regain bladder control on my own it was very apparent my efforts though long and tireless were not working. I knew the results I wanted but not how to achieve them. In walked APTC into my life, recommended by my physician after several consultations. I found your team to be very professional but yet down to earth and approachable. You took the time to explain everything to me in laymans terms and then listened to my expectations. I felt at ease and comfortable during our sessions. I will certainly tell people I know about your valuable services.

Thank you for the treatment I received in your clinic. My life is different now as I go about day to day tasks because I don't have to worry about accidents and moments of embarrassment. I appreciate the professional manner in which your clinic is run, the knowledge and expertise of the physical therapists and the state of the art equipment that assists people with strengthening muscles essential to living a happier life. I always felt I was listened to and directed in the best possible way in order to get well quickly. I appreciated the time you took to help me and it is my provilege to recommend your clinic to others. You are a God-send!

I will admit I was skeptical when my physician suggested I give Mitzi Gibson and the Advanced Physical Therapy Center a try for my urge and stress incontinence. I had previously had bladder surgery and was taking Detrol when I saw my physician. I now feel success and a whole lot of confidence after working with Mitzi and Lori. It is so wonderful to feel "normal" - not having to find every close bathroom or worry if I will be able to make it home. Thanks to Advanced Physical Therapy Center I now have my life back and under control.

I appreciate all you did to help my pregnancy be more enjoyable. I was even able to work up until the day my son was born, and I truly believe it was because of your help. Next pregnancy, I hope to avoid any aches and pains but if they do resurface, I will know who to call.

It has been a little over a month since my last therapy visit and I am very pleased to report that I have not had any accidents. I must admit that when my physician told me she knew someone that could help me with my problem of not being able to control my bladder, I thought to myself, "how can anyone help me learn how to keep from wetting my pants?!!? REALLY!!" But, I am here to say having been shown and taught this ability, it definitely gives "getting older" a MUCH brighter picture... of not having to wear Depends!! Thank you SO MUCH for helping me to realize that growing older does not have to hold the unpleasantness of losing control of ones bladder!
